Found from an estate sale in California, possibly from 1920's or older. Home was built in 1924. The homeowner was a quilter, but this also could have been passed down to them.
The Mosaic is a diamond-like pattern that typically uses a traditional English backing paper technique to sew together. It is basically using paper to stabilize all of the small shapes, and then pulling the paper away at the end.
Binding is a Japanese indigo jacquard cotton.
